Tell me about your Blog?
My main blog is QuirkyJessi (www.quirkyjessi.com), where I post mostly about the silly things I find across the web. This varies drastically from strange products to interesting photos to humorous videos too….well, just about anything really. One of the best ways to explore what’s on the site is to select the random link toward the top of the page or refresh to get a new random link pulled from the archives. I wrote all the posts, but ‘still’ have fun doing that, hehe.

What is your next blog?
I’m currently working on getting together a “quirky cookery” site (keep an eye on QJ for details of when it goes live). I’m someone who never stopped playing with her food, so I want to share some of the fun things I do….such as turning plain old roast beef into a “hot beef sundae,” arranging biscotti into a silly face with a mohawk, or turning a mountain of ingredients into a frog. I plan to also share lots of the quirky kitchen products that I end up passing over sometimes for the QJ site. I love to have fun, so I might as well share.

What is the biggest tip you would give to a newbie blogger?
Don’t expect results over night. Whether you’re just sharing what goes on in your life, striving to make money, or hoping to create a network of friends, it’s not going to happen at the snap of your fingers. It’s going to take some time, so don’t give up.

What do you do that is green?
I grew up when the “going green” fad was still “the three Rs”…recycle, reduce, and reuse. I’ve always been conscious of what I do, but one of the biggest things I’ve done recently is finally get my mom and family to switch over to cloth bags instead of plastic. I do all the basics like turning off lights, not driving very frequently, etc. I try to avoid a lot of unnecessary “extras” in general, so for example, you’ll find me buying foods in bulk and making most of our food from scratch to avoid all the extra packaging, processing, etc. It all adds up so much.

Whatโ€™s your favourite book?
Dr. Seuss books still rank highest on my list. Yes, I realize they’re considered children’s books, but they’re fun, silly, and full of life!

What are your contact details (email, company, blog, facebook, myspace, forums, etc)?
You can find me just about anywhere as “quirkyjessi.”
Blog: www.quirkyjessi.com
Email: quirkyjessi AT gmail DOT com
Facebook: quirkyjessi (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1037453454)
Twitter: quirkyjessi
Bloggeries, Gather, etc: quirkyjessi (see the trend here?)

How do you prefer to communicate?
Mostly email. My schedule is crazy and sometimes I might reply to an email at 3 in the morning when the other person is unlikely to be around. For extended conversations, I also use MSN messenger.

Who would you recommend, and why?
I read a huge variety of blogs. You should see my Google Reader folders. They include category names such as blogging, personal blogs, mommy bloggers, food, images, money, photography, tech, design, geek, and even Warcraft/gaming. I love discovering new bloggers and read lots of lesser known ones.

When it comes right down to it, though, “quirkiness” is what I do. I couldn’t possibly choose my favorite bloggers because there are so many, so I decided to recommend ones that got me with just their blog titles. In the fast pace internet world where most things are skipped over quickly, there’s a lot to be said for people who can draw you in with just their creative names.

What is one thing people can do for you?
Talk to me! I cross paths with a lot of people, but I like having one-on-one conversations with people, even if it’s just a brief one in my comments section or a quick email. I love when people email me quirky things they’ve stumbled across or get a kick out of something I’ve written and share their own story. I share a lot of link love, so it never hurts to make yourself stand out to me. ๐Ÿ˜‰
