Sandy Jenny Organize With Sandy A Blogger Interview

Sandy is one of the bloggers that moms who think they have too much to do need to meet. She has eight children between her and her husband, runs an organizing business and three blogs.

Sandy Jenney

Tell me about your Blog –

Organize with Sandy is a blog about organizing your home, your life…and how to do it in simple steps. I have found that people love new ideas and sometimes any help they can get in “how to” when it comes to organizing.

What was your first blog?

My first blog was my Organize with Sandy blog. I have also started a review blog for organizing products called Organize with Sandy Reviews.  I love finding great products to use and love to share them when I do.  I have a blog for one product I found that I love so much I decided to sell it!!  It is a purse organizer called a “pouchee”.  So I have started a blog/store for it – Pouchee.

I realized this summer there were many things I wanted to talk about or even promote that really didn’t have anything to do with organizing…but had everything to do with my family or myself. So….I started a new blog in November called Chat with Sandy.   So my blogs keep me plenty busy. (Although I am going to help my husband get a blog going on all his outdoor activities!)

What is the biggest tip you would give to product reviewers?

Pick and chose what products you review. Don’t review everything that comes in the door if you don’t feel like it applies to you.  Be honest with your readers!

Are you contacted by advertisers or do you contact them or both?

When I first started my organizing review blog I did the contacting.  But I have not had to contact any advertisers for awhile…I am lucky enough that they contact me. I do have to say that if i see something that I am really interested in reviewing…then I will contact the company and ask them about doing a review then.

What is your favorite product that you have reviewed?

Wow…that is tough. I have many! I would have to say that the one that has been the most meaningful and will last me a lifetime would be one that more recent. It is a T-shirt quilt.. But I threw a twist into it. I sent them my wedding dress (3 years old) and items from my wedding. Flower girl and ring bearer shirts, baby blankets, football and cheerleader outfits…Oh..my mom’s wedding gloves and hankie (she is deceased now) and they embroidered in her square! I am so grateful that this company asked me if I wanted to make a quilt.  Oh…and they also made a pillow with part of the bodice of my wedding dress.  The quilt is a great idea for those people who want to keep clothes/ T-shirts because they are special. They can see what means so much to them daily and get rid of a lot of clutter in their drawers.

Here is my post on the Campus Quilt Company. Although the giveaway is over, you can see the quilt they made me.

What do advertisers do that you wish they wouldn’t/ do that you like?

I am not to thrilled when I get a form letter. I actually once even got one with someone elses name on it. LOL  Oops!  I love when they have actually looked at my blogs…they know a little about me and can personalize their “pitch” to me. I am working with Genesis Today thanks to Collective Bias.  They are a very genuine company with some great people who have a great product. They want to work with bloggers and have some exciting things they are doing. I feel very pleased to be able to work with them.

What do bloggers do that you wish they wouldn’t/do that you like?

I have seen a few (one in particular) bloggers “use” their blogs as threats. I heard this person threaten a company that was doing some work on her home saying she was a big blogger and she could “ruin” their company by writing a nasty blog post if they didn’t get the problem taken care of the way she wanted it done.  It made me sick to my stomach!

I love “blogger” love. Promoting each other…lifting each other up and helping each other out. I have had so many wonderful friends help me out in so many ways!

What advertiser would you like to work with given a chance?

OMG….there are many.  Container Store, Ikea would be biggies for me!  Office Max, Target would also be great.  Would love to work with Cold Water Creek too…always buying their clothes.

Where do you see growth in the blogging field?

So many fields. I would have to say in coupons/deals and reviews

What is one thing about you that not many people know?

Unless you have met me in person …you wouldn’t know that I am 5’10” tall.

What’s your favorite book?

Love many books on organizing (Peter Walsh rocks).

Who would you recommend, and why?

Kim – Crafty Mama of 4 – She helps me ALL the time! She is honest and truly wants to help others. She is a good friend I have met through blogging.
Monica – Mommy Brain Reports – So sweet. She has done great things with her blog but is so nice. She wants to help and get to know you. She is soo funny!
Melissa  – Consumer Queen – I was almost a little scared of her because she has done so much with her blog. But she is honest, a very strong Christian…works so hard and is just as nice as can be. Luv her!
Beth – Plus Size Mommy – She works so hard and is so nice to everyone. She knows what it is like to be shunned in life and in the blogging life and tries to help anyone she can in positive ways.
Lacie – Peanut Butter and Pickles Review – I first learned what blogs were through Lacie’s blog. She answered many question for me on “how to” when it came to getting started.

What is one thing people can do for you?

I love when people stop by my blog and say hi!
