Why did you create DM-2?
First and foremost Epicenter is dedicated to driving quality traffic to our advertisers and partners. Having been in the domain parking industry for the past several years it occurred to us that a parked page with nothing more than paid advertising links was a horrible user experience. Not earth shattering but fairly obvious, so we set out to build a better mouse trap. In the process we added features that benefit our CPA advertisers as well. With the explosive growth of blogging and the influence bloggers now have on the web and mass media in general we wanted our software to be a one stop shop, competitive with parking companies, wordpress and other blogging platforms plus easy enough to use that someone with no HTML experience can build a website in minutes.

How did you get into affiliate marketing?
Dylan McDanniel leads site development, company logistics and other operations related activities at Epicenter Network. Dylan was a co-founder of Epicenter Network in 2006. Prior to that, he was a writer and editor at several newspapers and directed design and production for various companies in Los Angeles and the Bay Area such as Daily Variety, AvantGo, Sybase and KACE Networks. Dylan was educated at Linfield College.

Why should an affiliate chose Epicenter Network?
Epicenter provides affiliate tools that other companies simply don’t have. The affiliate marketplace is crowded, so companies are doing everything they can to stand out from the crowd. Some companies are AOR for name brand products, others have excelled in one area such as email or coreg, while others have focused on a linear business model and now manufacture, market and distribute their own products. At Epicenter, we’ve built a platform that is simple to use and allows every affiliate a competitive advantage in the affiliate marketing space.

Where do you see growth in the affiliate field?
Content, quality websites that provide a great user experience and traffic that converts for the advertiser is always going to be a growth segment of the market.

What new ideas are advertisers coming up with to take advantage of new traffic sources?
I don’t have any earth shattering revelations on what the future holds for advertising. I think we will continue to see a convergence of technologies and a standardization in formats that allow users to access to all of their tools in one place. Mobile computing, wireless browsing, social networking and media, video and digital photos, email, chat, blogging, TV, Radio, News, etc all coalescing into portals or devices, such as your phone. Advertisers that can cross market seamlessly to all of these various media formats will see the best results.

What do you do to improve the world?
Manage and build a business that provides a true work from home experience. Our DM2 product has literally turned unemployed people into wealthy work from home entrepreneurs. If you believe that wealth will somehow effect the economy and make the world better, than Epicenter is doing its part to help foster that growth, create jobs and create opportunities for people.

What do you do that is green?
Telecommute. Recycle.

What is one thing about you that not many people know?
While I’m very athletic, my dad has a degree in Philosophy so I often take a different approach to how I solve problems, especially to those who judge a book by its cover.
